“As long as I’ve been a Quaker,” Windy Cooler admits, “I’ve been a little unclear about what ‘holding in the Light’ means.” Is it just an expression Friends use instead of saying they’re going to pray for someone? Or does it show an intense kind of care and concern for that person? Maybe even a unique form of communion with each other and The Divine?
Windy and several other Friends share their thoughts.

Great comments! I love the concept of “holding in the Light” those we love and care about and ALL of Life! But the comments about the “fire” of the Light and how it reveals the Truth which can often be uncomfortable, eliciting change – was insightful! And truthful! Thanks for this episode of Quaker Speak.
Really enjoyed this particular Quaker Speak. It’s a term I’ve always used, but this added to my understanding of the term.
