When we launched the QuakerSpeak project in 2014, we had one fundamental question: if we post weekly video interviews with Quakers, will anybody watch?
In Season 1 of the project, we saw that the answer was a resounding “yes.” This time last year we were excited to announce that the project had over 150,000 views.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to interview a ton of Quakers, this time from all over the world, release over 40 more videos, and learn about the work of 3 amazing Quaker organizations. This year we’ve seen unprecedented reach and engagement. In fact, we are thrilled to say the QuakerSpeak channel has passed a half a million views.
And we have you to thank for it. Thank you for subscribing to our weekly emails. Thank you for following on Twitter and Facebook, and for sharing our posts with your Friends. Thank you for starting discussion groups and showing the videos in your Meetings. We feel so blessed to be a part of such a curious and engaged religious community. We wouldn’t be anywhere near a half million views if it weren’t for you.
So let’s take a moment to reflect on some of what we’ve done so far and what is yet to come.
First, we’ve organized all of our Season Two videos into a single playlist. Just click on this link and you will see a list of all of the videos that we’ve released this year.
Some of our videos have reached far beyond our regular Quaker circles. Here is a playlist which lists the most watched QuakerSpeak videos of all time.

I enjoy the talks but the background music of this last presentation was too loud , it was difficult for me to hear what was being said. My age might well have something to do with it!

I have been watching your videos, I think, since the beginning. They are wonderful and I frequently recommend them to people.
I was excited to hear about the 500,000 views. I wonder how many new Quakers you have enticed?
It was disappointing to hear you speaking about the number of views, but have we ever seen you, the instigator of all this? The little shot of you above is not sufficient!

QuakerSpeak is a first class medium to describe the faith and the practice of Quakers. In our meeting, we’ve used it for an Outreach program at our annual Fall Festival and plan to incorporate selected video’s in our Opening Exercises and the Brown Bag series. I have recommended the site to newcomers.
